Global Citizen is proud to announce the 2022 Global Citizen Festival campaign has culminated in over $2.4 billion in commitments to end extreme poverty NOW. As a part of the pledges, LEGO Foundation committed $25 million to Education Cannot Wait in support of its 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, including a commitment to playful learning opportunities for children affected by emergencies and protracted crises, that are gender-transformative and reach children in all their diversity.

Ahead of a planned high-level financing conference next February, Education Cannot Wait, the UN’s global fund for education in acute and extended emergencies, drew a new, $25 million commitment from the LEGO Foundation that was announced at a Global Citizen Festival in Central Park.

These contextualization tools consist of a methodology and reflections, as well as the resultant contextualized Domain 3 of the Guidance Note for Teacher Wellbeing in Emergency Settings for use in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya. The publications are part of a larger project, funded by Education Cannot Wait, to develop a Teacher Wellbeing Toolkit in order to meet the needs of teachers in their local context.
