The purpose of this policy is to ensure that UNICEF has the measures in place to protect all UNICEF personnel who report misconduct or cooperate with duly authorized audits, investigations and other oversight activities against retaliation. This policy covers the reporting misconduct process, UN ethics office process, protection from retaliation and policies to take action against internal and external parties who retaliate. This policy covers all UNICEF staff members (regardless of the type of appointment or its duration), United Nations Volunteers (UNV), individual contractors, consultants, interns, fellows, standby personnel or volunteers who engage in a protected activity. The policy is included as appendix 9.1 of ECW's Operational Manual.
